Hackney Central and Hackney Downs Safer Neighbourhood Team Week Ending: 05 July 2026

Good Evening Hackney Central and Hackney Downs Ward members.

This week, officers from the Hackney Central and Hackney Downs Safer Neighbourhood Teams continued proactive patrols across the wards, focusing on tackling crime, anti-social behaviour, and issues raised by local residents.

✅ Arrest Made

Officers arrested a male wanted in connection with a theft offence involving goods valued at approximately £250.

✅ Proactive Patrols and Drug Enforcement

Seven stop and searches were conducted in areas identified through community concerns and intelligence.

As a result of proactive policing, a male found in possession of cannabis will be dealt with through the criminal justice process.

✅ Addressing Anti-Social Behaviour

Three Anti-Social Behaviour Warnings were issued to individuals whose behaviour was having a negative impact on the local community.

One Community Protection Notice was issued to address persistent anti-social behaviour and improve the quality of life for residents.

✅ Community Engagement and Safeguarding

Officers continue to work closely with partner agencies to safeguard vulnerable residents and address community concerns.

Work is ongoing with partner organisations to support individuals experiencing mental health difficulties and ensure appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.

The team is also supporting initiatives that help young people with additional needs develop confidence and travel independently and safely within the community.

The team will continue high-visibility patrols, engage with residents, and work alongside partner agencies to address crime, anti-social behaviour, and safeguarding concerns across Hackney Central and Hackney Downs.
